My wife mentioned that a lot of you might not know what a "canal boat" is.  We have recently begun watching shows about canal boats on BritBox and Prime Video.  They are also called narrowboats and traverse the thousands of miles of canals in Britain.  The are basically an RV on the water.  They are called narrowboats because they are narrow, about 6 ft wide and maybe 60 ft long.  Lots of people simply downsize from the house to a narrowboat.  The shows on BritBox are wonderful.  The detail life on the boat.  When they are cruising, they have to go through "locks".   A lock is a gated chamber that fills with water to lift a boat up, or drains water to lower it down, allowing travel across hills and valleys where the canal isn’t level.
